The run up to Christmas is always the perfect time to take family and friends to see a good old-fashioned pantomime. What’s that I hear you say? Oh no it isn’t? Oh yes, it is! In keeping with tradition, whilst injecting some modern twists, Retford Amateur Operatic Society once again presents its annual pantomime, at The Little Theatre, Wharf Road. This year’s offering is Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs. The Panto! by David Crump and Paul Simcock.
Having presented this annual festive offering since 1985, this year is no exception for bringing the audiences of Retford a hilarious, all singing, all dancing production of enormous scale to an intimate theatre making it perfect for the young and the young at heart to really feel immersed in the action. Feisty and funny title characters, a wicked wolf, thigh slapping principal boy, the hapless comedy duo, and not forgetting the baddy to boo at and a larger than life dame; this panto really has it all.
Directed by Kev Woolnough with chorus choreography and child dancers once again supplied by Dawn Denman, Principal Teacher from Staples Dance Academy, this show promises to be the best way to kick off your Christmas countdown.
Performances take place from Wednesday 5th to Sunday 9th December, evening shows at 7.30pm (except Sunday) and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2.00pm.
