HMP Lindholme seeks volunteers

HMP Lindholme is 10 miles east of Doncaster, a Category C working prison and has around 1,000 prisoners. Members perform vital roles for the minister/public, offering unbiased oversight of HMP Lindholme. Members are unpaid but claim costs for travel and financial loss. This very rewarding role includes duties of; monitoring fairness and humanity, the range/adequacy of programmes, taking prisoner applications, raising concerns with the governor and reporting annually to the minister.

Applicants must be at least 18, have a very mature outlook on life, and live within 30 miles of HMP Lindholme. Members welcome all who are interested and (strive) to achieve a balanced board. Applicants must possess the interest/time (roughly five days a month) to make a full contribution, full training is given. Members are open minded, committed to diversity, equality and human rights, able to challenge, with the ability to retain confidentiality, they are team players and have the readiness to take on responsibility.
