Once again, Misterton Parish Church is supporting Operation Christmas Child. The charity invites gifts for children (and families) in the form of a shoebox, covered with Christmas wrapping paper and filled with suitable toys, toiletries, etc. The shoeboxes will be distributed to the poorest people in Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria, and Romania.
There are leaflets about the appeal in the Parish Church. Donors are asked to include £5.00 to cover the cost of processing and transportation. All the details are in the literature or go to www.samaritans-purse.org.uk/occ. So just take a normal-sized shoebox, fill it with toys, personal care items, school supplies, and accessories such as socks, a wind-up torch, jewellery, and watches and leave it with Misterton Parish Church (with donation) by 20th October. Please and leave it at the back of the Church. From Misterton, the boxes will be transported to a regional collection point for onwards distribution in November.
