Girlguiding Gainsborough – This girl can… construct

by | 11 October 2021 | Children's Group, Gainsborough

During the summer holiday, this girl has been busy completing some badges at home so that she can achieve her Rainbow Silver Award!
She has completed the Agility badge, Family Tree badge, Helper badge and Construction badge. And she’s hoping to finish two more to get her Rainbow Gold award.
Her favourite badge has been Construction – she likes making things and being creative. She discovered what things are made of around the house, and that triangles make strong structures and built a bridge and a tower using triangles. The best part was when she designed her very own playground with a slide, swing, and round-a-bout, and built it out of newspaper all by herself.
She’s also really enjoyed being back face to face with the other Rainbows and Leaders, building fires, playing rounders, and exploring at the campsite in the summer holidays, as well as meeting Girlguiding Gainsborough’s new leaders, but the best part is the weekly marshmallow toasting to make a s’more at the end!
