Gainsborough Free Christmas Day Lunch

by | 4 December 2022 | Community Event, Gainsborough

A warm welcome awaits anyone who would otherwise be spending Christmas Day on their own.

Anyone who would otherwise be spending Christmas Day alone is invited to join the Gainsborough Christmas Day Lunch Committee for a free Christmas Day Lunch and turn what would have been a lonely day into a memorable festive occasion.

The Christmas Lunch is now in its 46th year and is provided free of charge.

The entire purpose of the event has always been to bring people together to celebrate the day and enjoy the festivities in the company of others rather than being alone in isolation.

This annual celebration is run solely by volunteers and is only made possible by the generosity of local businesses and the community who support the event year after year.

The festive meal this year will be held at The Blues Club, North Street, Gainsborough DN21 2HU, on Christmas Day, Sunday 25th December, starting at 11.00am for tea, coffee and nibbles and concluding around 2.30pm.

To get into the mood, carols will be sung, followed by a two-course Christmas lunch. Entertainment is provided and Santa Claus will be distributing presents.

Free transport will be provided for anyone living in Gainsborough and district who cannot get there under their own steam.
