Gainsborough Free Christmas Day Lunch

by | 19 November 2022 | Gainsborough, Social Group, Support Group

Don’t be on your own on Christmas Day.

Anyone who would otherwise be spending Christmas Day alone is invited to join the Gainsborough Christmas Day Lunch Committee for a free Christmas Day Lunch and turn what would have been a lonely day into a memorable festive occasion.
The Christmas Lunch is now in its 46th year and is provided free of charge.

The entire purpose of the event has always been to bring people together to celebrate the day and enjoy the festivities in the company of others rather than being alone in isolation.

This annual celebration is run solely by volunteers and is only made possible by the generosity of local businesses and the community who support the event so generously year after year.

The festive meal this year will be held at The Blues Club, North Street, Gainsborough DN21 2HU, on Christmas Day, Sunday 25th December, starting at 11.00am for tea, coffee and nibbles and concluding around 2.30pm.

To get into the mood, carols will be sung, followed by a two-course Christmas lunch. Entertainment is provided and Santa Claus will be distributing presents.

Free transport will be provided for anyone living in Gainsborough and district who cannot get there under their own steam.
If anyone expects to be on their own and would like to attend all you have to do is contact Stan Foster on 01777 248354 or 07904 212533, or obtain an invitation form from Gainsborough Community Wheels,18 Parnell Street, Gainsborough DN21 2NB (01427 611441).
