Gainsborough Choral Society (GCS) held their first practice of the new season on 7th September and were delighted to welcome a number of new singers as well as existing members returning after the summer break. Vaughan William’s Dona Nobis Pacem and John Rutter’s The Sprig of Thyme are the two works being prepared for the concert on Saturday 11th November.

Vacancies exist in all parts, and the Society would welcome new singers. No audition is required – you just need to be enthusiastic about singing!

Two further concerts are scheduled for 9th December and 23rd March 2024. If you would like to join them, please see the contact information below. Rehearsals take place on Thursdays during term time, in All Saints’ Church, DN21 2JR, starting at 7.30pm.

GCS runs a very attractive Patron’s Scheme, which gives entrance for all three concerts for just £30.00. This guarantees you a reserved seat with a good view for each concert. For further information, email GCSPatrons@outlook.com. Tickets are also available via members, or from Horsleys, 21 Church Street, Gainsborough, six weeks before each concert.

Anyone interested in joining can email info@gainsboroughcs.co.uk for further details, or see http://gainsboroughcs.co.uk/index.php, or www.facebook.com/GainsChoralSoc/.
