Local author and historian, Darron Childs, is proud to announce the latest sitings of six new blue plaques around the town on behalf of the Delvers local history group. To celebrate the official launch, a talk about the history of the blue plaque series, which also began 20 years ago, will take place at Gainsborough House on Monday 11th December.
One of the plaques honours Adam Stark, who died in Gainsborough 150 years ago this December; you’ll find this memorial next to the NatWest Bank. Darron is also putting the final touches on a new publication which will tell the story of the plaques (further details will be announced shortly) relating to this aspect of Gainsborough fascinating history.
