On Friday 9th June there is a rare opportunity to experience a special performance by the acclaimed singer and multi-talented musician Miranda Sykes when she makes a very welcome to return to the Wesley Centre at Maltby as part of her spring tour.
Since 2004, Miranda has been best known for her collaboration with folk pioneers Show of Hands and has been on the road for 25 years since the age of 17 touring with other bands, in duos, as a soloist and even fronting her own band.
Performing three-weekly concerts on Facebook between chemotherapy cycles for breast cancer became a lifeline for Miranda, reminding her of her own identity during a difficult time. They also became a lifeline for many people to enjoy the music they love.
Because of these concerts, Miranda decided to record a CD at home and ask her online audience to choose the songs to be featured on it. ‘The Farmhouse Sessions’ covers the whole of Miranda’s career and is a celebration of life and love in all its forms; this tour is an opportunity for her to bring these beautiful songs to life on stage and use her voice to spread hope and happiness for all our futures.
Tickets priced at £14.00 are available from The Wesley Centre on 01709 811118, nwilson33@hotmail.com or online at www.wegottickets.com.
