Retford Heritage Open Day takes place on 11th September, from 10.00 to 4.00pm.
Have you ever wondered what is hidden behind the scenes at some of Retford’s beautiful and intriguing heritage sites? Heritage Open Day is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the places that have fascinating links to the past, as they open for the day to the public.
Retford Heritage Open Day is part of a country wide event run by the National Trust. This year, the theme is Edible England!
Many heritage venues have already signed up: Bassetlaw Museum and Pilgrims Gallery, Retford Library, the Chesterfield Canal Trust, the Majestic Theatre, Grove Street Methodist Church, The Time Machine, Trinity Hospital, The Masonic Hall, St Swithuns and St Michaels. Events at each venue differ but range from a Roman banquet set up, canal boat tours and school dinners! There will also be performances from the Retford Community Singers and a vintage bus will be giving tours.
