Were you a pupil or member of staff at King Edward VI Grammar School/King Edward VI School in Retford? Have you wondered where your former class mates or colleagues are? They could be members of the Old Retfordians Association.
The Association is run by former pupils as a way to reminisce about our school days. We run a facebook group and website which includes photos and documents of the School. Some of these have been copied from the county archives; others are held by members of the Association. There is a wide range of membership especially from the 1950s up to the 1970s and early 1980s. There’s a good chance that there is someone who was at the School the same time you were. If not, the group is friendly and full of stories about their time there. The Association meets regularly on Zoom but also at least once a year in person usually at Ye Olde Bell, Barnby Moor. In September we had our annual reunion dinner with great food, plenty of wine and fantastic stories. One member brought their “hoverboard” and we had a great time trying it out. Our next get together will be for our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 19th April at Ye Olde Bell at 11:30am. It will be a great way to get to meet us and find out more about the Association. |
