See behind the scenes of the town’s most iconic buildings and enjoy the street festival atmosphere on Retford Heritage Open Day on Saturday 10th September.
The theme this year is ‘Astounding Inventions’, and of course the Chesterfield Canal Trust with their 1929 Python workboat and our local Seth Ellis canal boat will be taking part. Built in 1777 for transporting goods, the canal is now a great leisure amenity. Take a 45 minute trip on the Seth Ellis from Town Lock for £5.00 each or £18.00 for a family ticket to include up to three children. For bookings and information ring 07925 851569.
To celebrate Heritage Open Day, Retford Life has joined forces with Retford Civic Society and the Chesterfield Canal Trust to offer four free tickets for a trip on the Seth Ellis. To be in with a chance of winning enter the competition on this page.
