Made by Katie Green presents free dance performances at Gainsborough Old Hall as part of 'The Imagination Museum: Mayflower 400' project

"If you were about to embark on a journey you knew was dangerous, what would you take with you?"

In The Imagination Museum: Mayflower 400, 3 eccentric tour guides - Mildred, Henrietta and Harriet - will lead you on a journey through history, using movement, text and music to explore what it was really like for many of the passengers who undertook a historic journey from England to America aboard the Mayflower in 1620. Many of these brave and pioneering passengers started their journey in small communities around Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire.

Video teaser online here:

This free performance (40 minutes) will be repeated at 11.30 and 2pm at Gainsborough Old Hall on the 25th May and will be followed by free dancing/craft workshop activities for children and their grown-ups.

Standard entry charge to the Old Hall applies 11am-5pm, no additional event charge and no need to book.

At 5.30pm we are also holding a special performance for members of the local community; more information:

Responding to artefacts, stories, sites and ideas from across Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Hampshire and Plymouth, The Imagination Museum: Mayflower 400 will look again at the story of the Mayflower passengers, considering who they really were, why they were making a journey they weren't prepared for, and what they did to survive.

A story about a group of ordinary people, their life-changing journey, determination, and the extraordinary things it makes people do.
